Visitor visa entry question

Hi Seniors,

I have a question about the length of stay of visitor visa,

A visitor had just come to me and he holds a one year multiple entry visa expiring on 10-Mar-2010, Its his second visit to Canada he stayed here for 5 months first time. This time he asked for 2 weeks stay and Officer at airport said he will get it, but officer did not stamp or write leaving date or length of stay. In fact new stamp looks same like the earlier one except some Numeric codes are different and color is black instead of blue.

My visitor wants to stay more now e.g 3 months, can he do that or he has to go back and apply new visa.

Is there any place where we can call / go and find out the length of stay ?

If there is no other date on the stamp except for the date of arrival then s/he is allowed to stay for 6 months counting from the date of arrival.

I would suggest him to return to home country on time of visa expiration or apply for extension which might be too late as he/ she needs to do it before 1 month of expiration!
