Spousal sponsorship, Buffalo NY.

Application sent: June 12, 2009
Application received: June 16th
Sponsorship Approved: July 15th, 2009 (ECAS became available the next day)
Letter received re: sponsorship: July 20th, 2009
AOR Received from Buffalo: August 5th, 2009
Document request (state clearance): August 12th, 2009
Medicals received August 12th, 2009
Passport Request: October 5th, 2009 (via email only)
Passport sent: November 16th, 2009
Visa Received: November 23rd, 2009

Landing:  Dec 28!

We're visiting his family in the US for Xmas.   CIC told us to hold off on landing until we return, as coming back into Canada and having used his VISA but without a PR card, he may not be admitted.

Another note, we didn't get the original passport request, as it was sent to a hotmail account and my husband has a gmail account.  We only became aware of the request after I emailed the Buffalo CIC (early Nov.) and they then forwarded me the original request, only 3-4 days after my first email to them.  Not bad.

Hi everyone,
Application sent to Mississauga on May 17th, 2009
Received on May 20th, 2009
Sent to Port au Prince, Haiti on June 22nd, 2009
In process in Haiti on June 30th, 2009

Sent Haiti an email sometime in September asking for a tentative timeframe and was told after my second email to them, not to contact them again until March as that is the minimum timeframe of nine months posted on the website.

Contacted my MP in November and was told that Haiti is waiting for the landing fee and my husband's medicals expire on January 26th

Oops, forgot to include, I paid the landing fee on November 17th, 2009.  Didn't realize we were supposed to pay that before we got a response from the embassy/visa office handling our case.  I never even received a letter stating they received my file or my B-file number.   This visa office is ridiculous!  Cry

Hey Smartin!  Congrats on your case being completed in a reasonable timeframe!  Don't see that very often it seems.  Wish you all the best with your spouse!  Thumbs Up

But, I am going to be ordering my CAIPS notes this week.  So, I guess I just have to wait.... and wait.... and wait... and wait, etc.....

This process has me working my butt of just to keep my mind of the whole thing.
