Hi, I am a PhD in English Literature & a professor at an undergraduate college. I am married but want to immigrate to Canada on my own to further my professional career in research and teaching. After 22 years of marriage my husband has no interest in immigrating or working for a living. He basically lives off his parents (my in-laws). Is it possible to apply and immigrate by my self?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Yes you can always immigrate by yourself.

You will have to identify in your application forms whether your husband and each of your dependent children (if any), whether will accompany you or not.

All your dependents and husband will have to undergo the medical exam.

You won't have to pay landing and processing fees for non-accompanying members

I need some help from you regarding the new Canada immigration process
which CIC recently announced.
I saw I need to get my education get assessed. and see if my profession is
eligible for apply.

I am am MBA from IIM and Btech from NIT in India. Will immigration assess it at par with Canada education?Shocked

I found the profession which is close to mine is Financial Investment
analyst. Although I am an Financial manager currently.Disapprove
Also for my wife it is Computer programmer and interactive media developers. She is an system engineer.Confused

I would like to know the little bit about the process part.
I have read through he instruction guide(IMM 7000), document check list
(IMM5612E) and NOC list document.

I need some of your inputs on the following questions:-IT is always better get some practicle advice from people then going by bookThumbs Up

- What are different stages in the process?
- What documents are required in each stage?
- Shall I go through some consultant? if you know any good names?
- If my wife applied for FSWP will I be eligible for working in Canada?
- Can we do any job after that or we need to do the same job we applied
in FSWP?
- When should I go for ILETS?
- How can I prove that I do the same activities as mentioned in the NOC
document for the profession?
- To get my education access do I need to send my certificates to these
organizations.

Any help from this forum would be great!Clap

Ashwani
