CIC is working very hard to prevent any potential delay lawsuits and updated processing timelines unexpectedly.
Routine application is now... 23 months! ("Processing times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012.") http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/cit-processing.asp |

Isn't it great to see how the service is getting better and better, day by day?

Unless you're in Victoria, where my routine application has now taken 32 months and counting. Thanks for the update, and good luck to all.

Note, this is only 3 month away from the period published previously. http://web.archive.org/web/20130131105014/http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/cit-processing.asp July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012: 21 month October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012: 23 month I was expecting 24 months this fall timeline release, but seems it'll be worse.
Good observation.

Routine application is now... 23 months!
So Non-routine applications (RQ'd) are 23X4 Had I known that….Things would have been different now! Highest level of frustration I've ever experienced in my life. Sarah

This just goes to show how CIC and JK are so intent on facilitating the citizenship process. I won't be surprised if JK decides to throw away the current backlog and promise a faster processing just like he did with FSW program. Looking at how things are done within CIC, I get speechless so many times.

Wow. When I applied, the estimated time for the whole thing was 16-18 months. Later in 2012 it was 19 months. And it gets longer and longer.
I suppose I was lucky that my case was complete in about 12 months... Edited by Nordicgirl - 18 Mar 2013 at 7:01pm |

I wonder what will happen IF they decide to revise the fees?
If anything, this article provides a glimpse in how the current government prefers to deal with things: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2013/03/10/canada-parole-board.html Totally different topic - but many things are so similar to CIC's RQ ordeal! Edited by akella - 14 Mar 2013 at 7:03pm |

JK should get a raise immediately for his wonderful performance as the immigration Minister! This is Tax time and we are ready to pay in more taxes for his raise! God bless this country!
