I checked the web site for processing time in January. It was showing the last update was January 15, 2014 and the processing time was 43 months.
Exactly 5 month later, Last update was on June 18, time is 48 months.
What I am trying to say, maybe this time is not really applicable for old applications? 48 months it's maybe for all new applications that were accepted in January... and for us it's still 43???? It's better than 48 Embarrassed In my country the process takes another 61 months.Wacko 48+61=109 it's 9 years and 1 month. Unacceptable! on a another hand one third of this time has already passed for me Wink

1. No it is applicable to everyone, the new Par/GPar applications went to the bottom of the pile.
2. What will help is that there will be a 2 year gap in applications as there were none submitted during the moratorium. So when the applications hit those from Dec/12 at Mississauga. Which at the present rate will take 2.5 years. Then there will be a 2 year gap, and the Jan/14 will start processing. T
1. The overseas processing should pickup with a cap of 5K per year a drop from 30K to 50K in the prior years.

Sorry, I am not following... Embarrassed what applications from Dec/12? Ottawa stopped accepting sponsorship applications for parents and grandparents since November 2011.

Some good news! Lost of people I know from a different forum got a letter from CIC last week to send additional documents in 90 days. All of them applied after November 2010. One lady applied in May 2011.
Did anyone from this forum who applied in 2011 get this letter?

By the way:
Exactly 1 month later, Last update was on July 30, waiting time has increased by 1 month and it is now 49 months. I think it is obvious how these months count until they deal with backlog

It will pickup speed as the moratorium on P/GPs creates a gap where no P/GP applications were accepted from the 4/11/11 to reopening. so there is 2 year space.

Salam,

I have applied for my parents in Jan 2011. Now i have got the letter from embassy asking the related forms again.

Just a quick question if any one have an idea. In Pakistan usually families are living combine. Do we consider siblings who are over 18 years of age as dependent of my father or not.

I only add my mother as dependent in my father's application. However my two unmarried brothers and one sister over 18 years of age are living together.

Answer will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ali

1. It looks like you missed the boat as you could have included all your parents children under 22 who were unmarried. Or if over 22 had been attending school since before 22.
2. As you didn't include them, and the age of dependency dropped to under 19 on August 1st, they can't be included.

Any update? I applied in May 2011, received the AOR but nothing after that. People who applied before 30th April 2011, started getting DOC request.

I'm in the same situation. Applied in May 2011 and just wait for the document request.
