Hi. Im a american citizen married to a canadian citizen for over a yr now. I'm here on my extension and thats up in july. I've been going to a Government funded school which is free to further my education. I wanted to know is this right? Or should i be waiting to become a permanent resident before attending any school? Thank you.

If the entire lenght of your program is less than six months - you're fine.

If the lenght of your study program is greater than six months - then what you're doing is illegal and you need a study permit.
