If somebdoy can help me answer this question.

I have sponsored my mom to immigrate to Camada, the file is under process and I am expecting we should receive an answer some time soon. However I got this job offer to move to Europe which I am considering, so i have the following question:

- Can i keep the immigration file going even if I am not living here?
- Can i transfer the file to my brother who has been living here for a year without having to re-start the entire immigration process for my mom all over again
- Can I appoint a representative (mabe my brother or a lawyer)
- Any other option that I didn't think about ?

Any help and advice would be appreciated
Thanks

1. No, you have to be resident.
2. No, you can't transfer the file to your brother.
3. No.
4. Not really, the reason they would issue a visa to your mother is to join you in Canada as family reunion. Ergo, you won't be in Canada, no family reunion.
