Hi All,
I did my landing for my Permanent Residency on Sept'11, 2009, but immigrated with my family by Oct'18, 2010. I have been staying inside canada since then. I am currently working for a IT company which is based out of US. We have an office in canada as well. I am on their canadian Payroll. I am planning to take up consulting job like work from Monday to Thursday outside canada and will back in canada for Friday to Sunday. Can those days ( Monday to Thursday) be considered for my residence requirement for citizenship?. Please respond asap as this is going to make me decide on my career. Thanks |

No - the time you work outside of Canada definitely won't count towards citizenship. It may count towards maintaining your PR status - but not towards citizenship. You need to be physically present in Canada to accumulate residency days for citizenship.
