visa extention while they did't avail it.

HI,
MY parents have visit visa of Canada but due to heavy winter they couldn,t  use it .Visa will expire on 26march2010.Can i apply for extension from here or they can apply from their country?Please suggest me what to do and how.

They either have to use it or lose it. They can arrive in Canada on or before March 26, 2010. If they didn't use their visa up to March 26, 2010, they have to apply for visas again.

so,its mean they have to use it at any cost then they will get extension.

if they show up at the port of entry before or on March 26th, they will get a typical 6 month stay (or in some cases for less)  so let us say if they get 5 months, they can stay till September 25th  or if it is for 3 months then they can stay till June 25th.

They can apply for an extension of their stay once in Canada, but the visa expiry date is still the same. They can request for a new one but to a visa office outside Canada.
