hi. my Canadian PR Card expired October 2012. I haven't been to Canada since working in UAE. Now want to visit Canada for tourism. Should I apply for Visitor Visa or must first go through process of revoking a 4.6 yrs expired PR? If former is more direct, any other copies I must include in the Visitor Application like copies of PR Card, previous expired passport..? Thanks

Hi
1. You have two choices, you can voluntarily renounce your PR status and then apply for a TRV to visit or apply for a PR Travel Document, which will be probably be denied and you will have 60 days to appeal. If it is denied you can waive the appeal period and then apply for a TRV. 2. IRCC will not issue you a TRV until your PR status is renounced or revoked. |

Cheers Mate. Ok so I messed up and want a 2nd chance to and go live there again and make it right . Is there a way to re-establish residency? Applying for PR Travel doc will most likely be rejected. What other options r available? Apply for a new immig visa eg. Investor?

Hi
, 1, Check your points on CRS to determine if you would qualify under EE, about 425 points, If you don't qualify, then an appeal is your only avenue,on a refusal for PRTD. 2, You could attempt entry from the US and if not reported, remain in Canada without leaving for 2 years, and then apply for a new PR Card. |

First, you must revoke your permanent residence, then you can apply for a temporary admission to Canada (TRV). When you apply for a TRV visa you would include your PR renunciation application.
