Hi there,
I just spent a year in BC on a work permit. It expires on the 11th of September. I just sent out a new application form and paid the fee for the visa. I have a job offer what is the reason for the wish to stay longer. I heard that I am able to work again until I get an answer for this application. 1. question: Is this true? I want to leave the country on the 10th for one month to the USA. 2. question: Can I easily come back to Canada to work according to question 1? PS: I am not applying for a LMO. I simply want to stay for one more year. |

Hi
1. It depends, if you are on a IEC (working holiday) it can't be extended and you can't work on implied status. 2. If you are apply for an extension with the same employer, and have submitted a LMO with the application, then you can continue to work under implied status until you receive an answer. 3. If you are applying to stay as a visitor, you have to stop working when your present work permit expires. 4. No, once you leave Canada, any implied status ends, and you can't work without a new work permit if you are re-admitted to Canada. 5. If your employer isn't applying for a LMO how do you intend to get a work permit? |
