Is a work visa needed?

Hello everyone,

Thanks a lot for this forum. My question might not be relevant to this forum but I hope that someone with experience could help with answering it. What kind of work visa (if any) is required if a Canadian citizen wants to work (specifically teach at the university) in the U.S.? I appreciate your helpfulness. Thanks.

	There are many different visas (e. g. H-1B) and statuses (e. g. TN) that could allow a Canadian to work in the U. S., depending on individual circumstances, so it is not possible to answer this question briefly. From the practical standpoint, it is not about what visa a Canadian would need, but whether the U. S. employer is willing to sponsor the most appropriate work visa. So this question really needs to be approached from the employer side, not from the type of visa side.
