Hello.
I am a Canadian citizen, and have been accepted as a sponsor for my wife, and we are currently waiting for her to receive a decison about her application for permanent residency to Canada. Her dossier was received at the Embassy in Beijing on May 19th, and the CIC website states that they started processing it on June 21st. In July, we received notice that they were requesting that she submit her original passport. This was done, and they received it on August 3rd. Since then it has been 6 weeks and we have received no news, or any additional information, and I am starting to worry that maybe there is something wrong, or that it will be rejected. How long, how much time does it take to view a dossier after the passport has been received? Is it a good sign that they have asked for the passport? or is it just a normal part of the procedure. I am really quite anxious as I do not know when a decision will be made , or whether her application will be succesful, or whether we should think about my leaving Canada to settle here in China.
Has anyone else experienced a situation like this? Have any information or advice?
Best,
Bergson
