Check the following thread (a lot of pages) for RQ-related discussions:

There is no reliable source of information about how long RQ is taking generally, let alone at particular local offices, let alone for individuals. Moreover, there have been significant changes since May of this year which are likely to affect the RQ timeline for many, so even what might be gleaned from the timelines of those who have gone through RQ before does not much indicate how it is going to go from here.

The place to read more background and discussion and observation regarding RQ timelines is in the RQ timeline topic, which as I recall, did begin with someone reporting who was going through RQ in the St. Clair office.

More about factors affecting the RQ timeline has been posted in the more recent posts in that topic.

And of course, it will be appreciated if you too share your timeline.

Thanks. My timeline is as follows.
Applied  Nov 2010
Test Nov. 25 2011
RQ  Nov. 25 2011
RQ submitted  Jan 2012
Reason for RQ: old passport was missing (I found the old passport after the test, and submitted the photo copies to CIC)
CIC office: St.Clair

I just got the GCMS notes, and saw 2 update on Dec.2
1. test passed,
2. no Judge hearing required

Because there was no update since Dec.2, 2012, I was wondering if I still need to go through the judge hearing step. Any one know that?

My RQ is currently processed by the St. Clair office. I was advised two days ago by a CIC agent that the St. Clair office is quoting the following timeframes: (keep in mind these are more conservative than the reality)

- RQ review and processing - 14 months; if after such review a hearing is not required you will be placed in the queue for the oath ceremony;
- citizenship oath ceremony - 6 months;

In the event that a hearing with a citizenship judge is required after your RQ is processed, you are looking at an additional 16 months.

Hope this helps.

Wonder how believable is that, given that based on edmonton2011's spreadsheet St.Clair office was typically scheduling oath immediately after test (for routine apps, I would assume). There are a number of cases with test in month 11, and oath immediately after that in month 12 (from the start of processing).
Now, CIC agent says 6 months to schedule oath... which is contrary to people's experience, unless... CIC is doing "double whammy" for RQ recipients - i.e. they first burden you with RQ and it's timeline, and then deal a second blow with a separate slow-moving oath queue.
