i just went to my interview on jan 26 and everything went well. the official said she will approve it for now but to wait for a letter in the mail. and it will explain what to do next, for example how to get the medical and criminal records done and how to get work and study permits. does this mean my spouse is aproved in principal? |

I means your spouse is approved in principal provided that they are not inadmissable on medical or criminal grounds.

"Will this matter a year from now?"
Probably, this is gonna be a one hell of a long journey. |

I dont think anyone can give you that advice, that is a decision you have to make by yourself. If it were me, I would be thinking about holding out for the longer time to clear the bancrupsy and so filing sooner rather than later.
But then again, I wouldnt beleive anything until I had seen it in black and white. |
