Paid the fees>>what NEXT??

Assuming you are saying you paid the application fee, all that would mean is they will now consider your application.  If you mean you paid the "right of permanent residence fee" it means that as long as any other remaining issues are resolved (medicals and police generally) they will move on to the final stage (and if you are in the UK, you are visa exempt, so that now seems to mean they will ask for a copy of every page in your passport.

When EVERYTHING is really done, you will receive your Confirmation of Permanent Residency and then it means your application is accepted (the next step is to arrive at the border and take up permanent residency.)
