Dear All,

I am looking to apply for an independent skilled worker residency visa. Both myself and lawyers I have consulted with are confident of my chances of success.

However, I am still a PhD student and am put off by the costs of the lawyer's fees. Just how much more likely am I to get the visa if I engage a lawyer than if I apply alone? Are there any stats on this? Obviously it will improve my chances somewhat, but is it enough to be worth several thousand additional dollars?

Best
