Hi All,

I have sopnserted ( group of five)my sister and her familyMy sister and her family ( husband and 2 daughters age 7 and 8) are  refugee in Turkey, they are originally from Iraq. They passed the Medical Checking and they got their visa on the passport which was send by the Canadian embassy to IOM. They were given a travel date on January 31 , 2011. On January 26 they got a call from the Canadian embassy that the travel date was put on hold. Their passport s still at the IOM office. 

She was told the  file needed more review, more back ground cheking needs to be done. It was devestating news to her and her family.My questions are, can the children come to Canada (with parents permisions). How long the review will take. Did this happen before. Does she need a lwayer. Any suggestion or advice. Thanks, Sally

	No idea if this type of thing happens often or not - but you can be relatively certain that the children will not be allowed to come to Canada until the parents are authorized to come, too.
