Visitor visa online submission issues

Hey everyone!

I have submitted an online application for visitor visa as I have to attend a scientific workshop but due to ongoing technical glitches the website was broken for almost ten days and I could not submit the additional document they required. Although I have done that now, I am not sure if they have rectified the issues. Now, I am thinking if I should apply through vfs but it might duplicate the application? If I attach a letter saying, this was my previous application number (for the online one) and i had issues with online submission; should it be okay?Or just submit it through vfs straight away like a new application?

I have to leave by 10th July 2014 and the visa processing time in the Uk is around 11 days,
