Need your advice

I took the test on December 9, 2009 in Windsor and waiting for the decision. However, my PR card will expire by the end of this Februrary and I need a VISA to attend a conference in USA on 20th of March. Is there anyone who has the experience to contact the CIC to speed up the application? I only need two weeks in advance for by the end of March, it is almost 4 months after the test.

	I don't think you can ask CIC to "speed up" the process. However, if you have the contact number/email/fax of the Windsor office or maybe if you can go there to inquire, it may be an option... Otherwise you just wait for the oath.....You should have applied for new PR card like 3-4 months ago.....not sure why you waited until now....and you should've applied for the US visa too...... I hope you get your oath soon.....try calling CIC Call Centre for status update....

	Purchase your ticket the USA, apply for the PR renewal and attache the ticket and write on the envelop (Urgent - Prove of travel inluded) and send to Sydney. You will get the PR in 4 weeks max. I did the same a week ago and my ecase showed approval and cards ready in 3 weeks.
