I have received COPR, i came to know that I have to satisfy the immigration officer at the port of entry that I have sufficient funds to live in Canada. My primary question is do i need to show the funds only in Canadian dollars. I have sufficient fund deposited in a Nationalized bank in India. Can I show it as a proof? Or do I need to convert all of the deposited amount to dollars?
The bank has provided me with an international debit card, I can readily withdraw Canadian dollars in ATM's. |

Hi
1. proof of funds in any convertible currency is fine. Just ensure that the bank statement in rupees is equivalent the required funds. You don't have to convert to all your overseas funds to Canadian $ |

I have the amount in a "Fixed Deposit" which I don't want to cancel as of now. Shall I show the receipt of the deposit as a proof?
